The Institute of Maltese Journalists has accepted sponsorship from Crystal Finance

New sponsor of Malta’s journalism awards

Alfred Mifsud, now sponsoring the Institute of Maltese Journalists’ journalism awards

Yesterday I received an email from the Institute of Maltese Journalists – I am not a member and never was, but it was sent to me for publication – informing me that the institute has accepted sponsorship from Crystal Finance Investments Ltd.

Crystal Finance Investments will be sponsoring the institute’s journalism awards.

This kind of thing makes me desperate about life in Malta. Crystal Finance Investments is owned by Alfred Mifsud and John Dalli. John Dalli’s daughter is a director of the company.

Yes, the very same daughter against whom reports have just been filed with the police because she received millions of dollars from American investors which have since gone missing.

Instead of accepting sponsorship from these sleazes, the members of the Institute of Maltese Journalists should be hounding them.

So now the Maltese journalism awards are going to be sponsored by John Dalli and Alfred Mifsud. No, not ‘only in Malta’. Only in the Third World.
