The Malta Enterprise envoy to whom potential investors can’t speak

The Opposition and the press have to get to the bottom of exactly why Konrad Mizzi’s wife is being paid to live in China.

The Malta-China Chamber of Commerce has been trying to get her number for the past year, with no success.

Meanwhile, I have just contacted some associates in Shanghai to check whether they can get her telephone number or fax no. None were found.

Ringing Shanghai 114, the city’s telephone directory service, elicits the reply that the number for the Malta consulate in Shanghai is not listed.

This does not mean there is no telephone number, but that the number is ‘off the books’ and can’t be given out.

A man who owns several 5-star hotels in China and a real estate empire in that country told 114 that he wants to invest in Malta and needs the number for the Maltese consulate. He was told to contact the Maltese embassy in Beijing.
