And five months later, they make him deputy governor of the Central Bank of Malta
Last November, Times of Malta published the story below about heavy losses suffered by those who invested their money with Crystal Finance – the company owned by Alfred Mifsud, John Dalli and Eric Schembri.
Dalli’s daughter Claire Gauci Borda, currently the focus of accusations by US investors that she helped scam them out of their life savings through the Dalli-owned company Corporate Group Ltd, sits on the board of directors of Crystal Finance, representing her father’s concealed stake in that operation.
Joe Vella Bonnici, failed Labour Party general election candidate and now executive chairman of Identity Malta, also sits on the board of directors.
It isn’t only Crystal Finance that’s in trouble. Allcare Insurance, another company owned by Alfred Mifsud and Eric Schembri (it is unclear whether John Dalli is involved in that too) is in trouble, as evident from its last set of accounts, published a few months ago.
