Corruption update: there have been no proceedings against Peter Paul Zammit

Police officers have been put through the mill for far less, but Peter Paul Zammit, the (now ex) Police Commissioner who ordered his men not to proceed against his friend and client, has been merely moved sideways – from Police Commissioner to head of security on the CHOGM Organisation Committee.

It was the same with Ray Zammit, the ACTING Police Commissioner who succeeded him. After that dreadful debacle on the night that the Police Minister’s driver shot at a man on a public road, he merely ceased to be ACTING and resumed his listed post as assistant commissioner.
