Stop using the word ‘rape’

I do wish everybody would stop using that cliché, rape, in terms of environmental destruction. The natural environment is not raped. It is destroyed.

Calling it rape, using that word, belittles what women and children of both genders (especially the children) go through who really are raped in the proper meaning of the word. Repeated use of the word for the environment just undermines them.

The comparison is odious. Stop doing it. Destruction is destruction, not ‘rape’.
