Taghna Lkoll news: Joe Cuschieri and Paul Fenech at the Lotteries and Gaming Authority
Back in January 2011, The Times covered a cute story about two best friends called Joe Cuschieri and Paul Fenech who had first met 22 years earlier when one of them needed help on the road and the other towed his car to Hal Ghaxaq.
They entered the story in a Facebook competition and won an all-expenses-paid trip to Australia for the two of them.
Very sweet.
Fast forward two years to 2013 and Joe Cuschieri’s wife is now the foreign minister’s daughter. Cuschieri leaves his job at Vodafone Malta for a Taghna Lkoll appointment: executive chairman of the Lotteries and Gaming Authority.
And then he sneaks his best friend in as chief information officer – you know, in a completely transparent process because this is the most transparent government ever in the history of Malta – and nobody notices because by now, everyone’s forgotten that story in The Times about the two best friends, the Facebook competition and the trip they won to Australia, even if they ever registered it in the first place.
All together now: Malta Taghna Lkoll.
