“The hungry claws of the arrogant pack”
Labour backbencher Marlene Pullicino – my fellow columnist at The Malta Independent – today writes about what she calls “the hungry claws of the arrogant pack” in reference to the government and its cronies.
The plans for Zonqor Point, she says, have not so much caused outrage against the government as galvanised the already growing anger.
I agree with that. Two years ago, Muscat would probably have got away with his sham Jordanian business college on agricultural land near the coast, just as he got away with everything else, including some truly monstrous outrages.
But after two years of flagrant abuse, cronyism, fixed deals and blatant collusion with the corrupt and with party donors, the slowly simmering private disgust has burst into flames and into the open.
