It says everything about Labour and its switcher supporters that they rubbished this beautiful thing, tore it to shreds (making themselves ridiculous in the process) and described it as a waste of money.

Now it is done and it is impressive, really a masterpiece. It isn’t pleasant to make ‘odious’ comparisons but they have to be made. Joseph Muscat’s answer to Lawrence Gonzi’s landmark for all time is a business college for visa-seeking Gulf Arabs, built by a Jordanian contractor on agricultural land from which farmers will be evicted in the time-honoured Bolivian tradition.

There is no comparison between the two political parties and their choices, their way of doing things. Those who seek to lump the two in the same basket really need to have their head examined. The difference isndamental and unbridgeable. It is a difference of mentality, not of policy. The mentality shapes the policy and the choices.

Anybody who calls this beauty a cheese-grater has found his natural home in the Labour Party.
