Anyone out there care to help set up a Heterosexual Union?

Or maybe it should actually be a Union of Heterosexual Men, Heterosexual Women, Gay Women Of All Kinds & Non-Camp Gay Men.

I’m pretty sure there are tens of thousands of us out here who are now sick to the gills of the way camp men have taken over the public sphere under this government.

It is perfectly possible to be gay and male without being totally camp; it’s just that the super-camp are always in our faces, on television and elsewhere, and so people who don’t know better think that all gay men are that way, because the accountants in boring suits are invisible.

It is especially annoying when they don’t even have the honesty and self-knowledge to come out of the closet, and yet keep camping it up while using their marriage to a woman as a security blanket or what is called ‘a beard’.

Under this woman-hating government, even gay women are now sidelined. OK, they’re gay, but hey, they’re women – so let’s shove them aside in favour of some excitable men.

I mean, do we really have to put up with this kind of thing? If that was a naked woman in the picture, and the men salivating beneath it were straight, there would be an outcry about how disgusting they are and how offensive to women, how outdated, Austin-Powers-esque and insulting, patronising & c & c.

But because it’s gay men (even if closeted and married or widowed) salivating over a naked man, then apparently it’s fine to do it in public.

Straight men have been taught with difficulty and painstaking progress since the 1970s that it’s not acceptable to behave like sexually-deprived savages outside the context of the bedroom (where they can do what they like with another consenting adult).

Gay men apparently think they are exempt from the rules. But they’re not.

Doing it over a woman is dated and offensive (which it is), but doing it over a man is progressive, liberal and liberated, the way they see it.

As if – it’s just as disgusting, and they are too daft and narrow-minded to see why.

If they want to drool over a naked male bottom, they can take it inside and do it between themselves in private.

The ironic thing is that, in their conviction that their behaviour is liberated, they don’t realise that what they actually are is unreconstructed men from the 1950s or 1960s – drooling over sex objects in public, except that because of their particular preferences, the sex objects are men and boys rather than women and girls.

And it’s just as alienating to everyone else.
