Clint Scerri: a mini biography
Clint Scerri was born in October 1991, which makes him 23 years old. His father is Aldo Scerri of Valletta, who in his youth played waterpolo for Valletta and now coaches Ta’ Xbiex.
His mother is Vicky from Sliema’s Lazy Corner, where Clint and his older brother Rainer (pronounced Rye-NeR – more about him in a later post) grew up in Gafar Street. Vicky Scerri’s ziemel is, oddly enough, not her son’s employer Michael Falzon, but Evarist Bartolo, with whom she is fixated.
During the election campaign, Clint did a bit of canvasing for the failed Labour candidate Clifton Grima, a lawyer who was then put on the public payroll, absurdly, as chief executive officer of the state mental hospital.
Clint himself was not put on the public payroll immediately Labour got into power. He had to wait a long seven months before being given a ‘position of trust’ in Michael Falzon’s private secretariat at the Office of the Prime Minister, on 28 October 2013.
Up until then, he worked at a company called ProMinent Dosiertechnik, though I don’t have any information on what he did there.
In September 2011, Clint Scerri met a young and good-looking – what we would call ‘completely out of his league were it not for the fact that she needs a European passport’ Russian adventuress called Alina Bekina, who was on holiday in Malta.
She went back home to Moscow and he spent the next few months flying between Moscow and Malta and posting excruciatingly immature and sub-literate comments on full public view on his Facebook Timeline about his baby’s crib (translation for those over 60: ‘his girlfriend’s flat’) and the “massiv life” he was leading.
I’m guessing he’d probably never had sex before and thought all his Christmases had come (sorry) at once.
Just eleven months later, in August 2012 when he was only 20, he married her, and of course, she came to live in Malta.
The Taghna Lkoll government has put Clint’s wife on the state payroll too: as ‘EU executive control officer’ at the Employment & Training Corporation.
