Daniel and Roderick Zammit raid illegal gambling operators Oct 2013; nobody charged yet
On 4th October 2013, Police Inspectors Daniel Zammit and Roderick Zammit successfully raided several illegal gambling outfits and also the offices of the two main illegal gambling operators.
I am informed that these raids took place after several days of phone-tapping and monitoring.
The illegal operators arrested that day were brothers Antoine Pace (ID 147086M) and Gilbert Pace (ID 10881M), and Tyrone Pisani.
The Pace brothers are directors and shareholders of Fairbet Ltd (C43673), which is still licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority until today. Fairbet Ltd holds a Class 3 licence under the Gaming Devices Regulations.
Tyrone Pisani’s Silverplay Company Ltd used to hold a Class 3 licence too, but gave it up a couple of months ago.
Despite being arrested almost two years ago, the Pace brothers and Pisani have never been arraigned in court. I am informed that Daniel and Roderick Zammit were offered a sum of money to drop the case, but have no proof of this.
The Malta Gaming Authority is fully aware of the situation with Fairbet Ltd and also about the raids and arrests, but it has not suspended its licence.
Antoine and Gilbert Pace are the sons of Anthony Pace (ID 234756M) who is a shareholder and director in Corporate Developments Ltd together with John Dalli’s daughter and frontwoman, Louisa Dalli (ID 329581M).
Corporate Developments Ltd owns a large tract of land opposite the Marsa Racecourse and has recently been given development permit by the MEPA.
