UPDATE/I have just received this message from Patrick Dalli, who is married to cabinet minister Helena Dalli, in reference to the text below: “Hi Daphne, just to set the record straight, my brother (John) together with his family have fallen out with us for the past 10 years. Kindly note that there is no connection at all between the two families.”

I mean, just look at them. And then read their exchanges. You have to weep.
Jackie Dalli isn’t a ‘person of trust’. She is a public servant, who has worked at the Lands Department for many years.
She was given a fair amount of responsibility by the Nationalist government on the grounds that she is a “technical person”, but she is clearly much happier working in this corrupt and sleazy environment, where she gets to call a 23-year-old semi-literate carouser “boss” than she was in a professional one. I suppose the most important thing is not that the environment is professional, but that it is very Labour.
Mrs Dalli is married to John Dalli Junior, son of Mintoffian Golden Years MP Johnny Dalli tal-Hunters Tower.
This means that her husband is cabinet minister Helena Dalli’s nephew: Helena Dalli is married to Johnny Dalli’s much younger brother Patrick.
