This is Clint Scerri’s immediate superior: Richard Dimech
It turns out that Clint Scerri is not so much the Kink tal-Lents as the Lands Dauphin. His immediate superior, also handling the Lands Department, is Richard Dimech – Falzon’s so-called chief of staff.
Dimech was a Bank of Valletta employee, as was Michael Falzon until he became parliamentary secretary, and both of them were abusively given early retirement – three years’ salary – by the Bank of Valletta when Falzon got into government and Dimech went to work for him.
Dimech was general manager at the bank’s branch in Republic Street, Valletta, but when George Abela was made head of state, he was seconded to the president’s office as his ‘diplomatic adviser’ (hence the diplomatic messes). He and Abela are cousins.
When Abela’s term was up, Dimech did not go back to the bank but was abusively given early retirement after being absent from the bank for five years, and then migrated to Falzon’s private secretariat.
Michael Falzon was a Bank of Valletta employee all his working life, from 1979 right up until he became parliamentary secretary in 2013. Here is his bio up to the general election.
Dr Michael Falzon was educated at St Albert the Great College in Sliema and Valletta. He then proceeded to do his sixth form studies and joined the Bank of Valletta in 1979 as a clerk.
In 1985 the Bank sponsored Michael to start reading law at the University of Malta from where he graduated as a notary in 1989 and as a lawyer in 1991. Dr Falzon also continued with his banking studies obtaining also the International qualification as an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, ACIB.
Michael Falzon is employed at the Bank of Valletta as an Executive Head within the Bank’s Legal Office.
