Asked about the government’s environmental credentials Ms Vella said that she was not surprised with the ongoing attack on the environment as before the election Dr Muscat made conflicting promises to environmentalists and developers. “This is the result” she said.

How completely disingenuous – she gave the opposite impression before the general election, letting herself be used by Joseph Muscat’s television station as a regular talk-show guest to help tear the Nationalist government’s environmental credentials to shreds.

Why didn’t she rip into his conflicting promises instead?

Mrs Vella is “not surprised” at the “ongoing attack on the environment” but she didn’t vote to try to stop it happening.

At least I can say I did that much.

It’s great that those 21 NGOs are pulling together on this. We can’t let Joseph Muscat do this for a friend.
