A new Maltese term: ‘Maternity liv’

So they’ve spelt one word in English, maternity, and the other in ‘Maltese’, liv: maternity liv.
If they’re going down that route, why not meterniti lijf?
People who were raised speaking only Maltese can’t pronounce the ‘vee’ sound when it comes at the end of a word: ‘leave’ is pronounced ‘leaf’. So if they are going to be ridiculous about this spelling business, they majtezwel be authentic.
