John Dalli’s henchman Iosif Galea, whose father Frans Galea is chief of staff to Family Minister Michael Farrugia, is under investigation by the Italian anti-Mafia authorities for his involvement as key officialin Maltese-registered internet gaming companies which are laundering the profits of the ‘Ndrangheta-controlled cocaine market.

Iosif Galea does not have a fiduciary company nor is he holding shares under Malta’s fiduciary laws, for third parties who are made known only to the Maltese authorities. Galea is the key official for the companies, which means he is in the exact same role as Mario Gennaro, who was top of the news when he was arrested last week in Malta and held for extradition to Italy.

I have no idea what the law says about the extradition from Malta of Maltese citizens to face trial in Italy, but I’m sure a few of my readers do and will let us know on the comments board.
