Mintoff’s foreign minister helps train CHOGM volunteers

Alex Sceberras Trigona, Dom Mintoff’s foreign minister and one of the oldest living fossils of what Malta’s European Commissioner (see them both in this lovely picture with other Mintoffian ministers and Muammar Gaddafi in the 1970s) fondly remembers as the Golltin Yirs of Layper, was a speaker on Friday at a training session, held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, for volunteers who will be working at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.

What did Joseph Muscat’s current special envoy to the World Trade Organisation in Geneva have to say to them? How to watch from your ministry office doorstep in Merchants Street while thugs to whom you were speaking just a few seconds earlier race after and beat up people you know? I was there, and have had no time for that specimen since then.

Muscat has raised more people from the dead than Jesus Christ himself.
