I have just rung Jason Azzopardi, who owns The Stable in Sappers Street, Valletta, to ask him how much time the Minister for the Economy spends there.

“I’m sorry,” he said, “but I can’t answer that.”

“Is he there every day, several times a week, what time of day,” I asked, but Mr Azzopardi refused to reply.

This morning, Mr Azzopardi took down his Facebook page, but fortunately I had already downloaded this picture of him with Glenn Bedingfield, the prime minister’s communications consultant, in his bar.
