You’d have to be dumb to think that the Maltese involvement in cocaine-trafficking by the Calabrian ‘Ndrangheta is limited to laundering money through internet gaming companies set up here in Malta.

Michael Calleja is not Australian. He is Maltese-born through he almost certainly also has Australian citizenship, which is why he was protected from an extradition request.

It would be fascinating to know whether he still pops back home to Malta. Malta does not protect people from extradition requests by Italy.
