Win spot prices with Mater Dei Hospital

The usual problems pronouncing the final sound of English words when that sound does not exist at the end of Maltese words: this time it’s PRIZE, pronounced PRICE by people who grew up speaking only Maltese.

Nobody who pronounces PRIZE correctly would ever spell it PRICE, but when you pronounce both words the same, you are obviously going to get confused and the thing you win in lotteries becomes a PRICE.

However, this is the state general hospital’s participation in something to do with the World Health Organisation, so somebody should have checked that poster.
