Joe Sammut was more than a Labour Party candidate. He was the Labour Party’s treasurer at a time when the Labour Party was hooked up to Muammar Gaddafi.
That’s how he came to be accountant and financial adviser to the Gaddafi family, especially to Mutassim Gaddafi, whose very large accounts at the Bank of Valletta he administered.
