A table published in the Times of Malta a couple of days ago shows that Air Malta has the highest staff-to-fleet ratio of all European airlines, even higher than the disastrous Alitalia’s.
I agree that it would crazy to cut the fleet – it’s tiny as it is – so that means staff numbers have to be cut instead.
Air Malta was treated for too long, by both parties in government, as some kind of depository for cronies and the children of cronies.
