These Maltese poseurs really make me nauseous. When they want to pick a quote or reference to seem high-brow and intellectual (has the Speaker ever tried to pronounce that?), it’s always the same three or four fossils.

They have NO idea what’s been going on in the world of contemporary writing since 1980, or who the new people are. Even the new people are now old and they’re still banging on about Umberto Eco, without having read anything he wrote.

Widen your horizons a little, why don’t you.

Oh yes, I’m sure the Justice Minister spends his downtime reading Umberto Eco with Janice Bartolo perched on his ding-a-ling. Tiresome people.
