How Olivia Farrugia, Employment & Training Corporation head of division, excites her boss

So far all the focus has been on that stupid old fool, Philip Rizzo, the Employment & Training Corporation’s CEO – except in what I have written for this website and my column in The Malta Independent, in which I made it clear that I think Olivia Farrugia should be censured too because she was obviously doing it for promotion.

Farrugia may be Rizzo’s subordinate but she is also a senior official at the Employment & Training Corporation – a head of division, a post to which she was appointed directly without an internal call for applications or an interview process. It is quite obvious from her sexual-innuendo-laden relationship with her boss why she was promoted.

This is exactly the kind of thing she uploads on Facebook to titillate (she is second from right in the picture). You might not feel remotely titillated, but please remember that Philip Rizzo is in his 60s and was never attractive to begin with.

To somebody in that position, Olivia Farrugia is something Father Christmas has pulled out of his sack and left at the end of Rizzo’s desk with a note saying ‘Open me – no coal this year because you’ve been a good boy’.

A head of division at the Employment & Training Corporation uploading suggestive comments on Facebook about ‘suckling dick’? I don’t think so.

In my book, she should be sacked on the grounds alone that she can’t distinguish between sucking and suckling.

Minister Bartolo (and no, I don’t mean the Justice Minister) should get his act together and sort this mess out. From what I hear, life at the Employment & Training Corporation has become like a series of episodes from The Office, with Philip Rizzo in Ricky Gervais’s role and Olivia Farrugia spending lots of time behind his closed door.
