Muscat goes to Calleja concert with 10 bodyguards

A friend who was at Joseph Calleja’s concert on Monday has just emailed this photograph with the message below.

We were sitting at the front, towards the side, and it was one of the most uncomfortable feelings I have ever had.

There were eight men and two women – all wearing suits – who sat to our side and spent the entire concert staring intently at the prime minister and his family.

Towards the end, when people began to stand up and leave, five of them got up and took up a position just below the stage, when they continued to stare at the PM and his family.

It was the sort of security detail that President Obama is seen with.

On another note, Muscat wore white from head to toe. He was the only man dressed that way.
