Sandro Chetcuti says he only gives money to Opposition parties. As long as they’re Labour.
In this interview published in Malta Today eight years ago, Sandro Chetcuti – now president of the Malta Developers Association – says that he prefers to donate money to political parties when they are in Opposition.
Nahseb kielha l-ghatba tad-Dar Centrali tal-PN minn Marzu 2013, iroxx ic-cekkijiet.
That was one way of saying, as we can see from the way things have developed since then, that he only likes to give money to the Labour Party.
The Nationalist Party in government did not seem to appreciate his donations, he said (and not to put too fine a point on it – but Lm100, which is €230…just wow). Which is another way of saying that they didn’t keel over, lick his boots, consult him on development policy and give him the permits he wanted.
Unlike Labour.
