The new definition of left wing

I hate to have to be the one to point it out, but it’s one hell of a left-wing government that sequesters and destroys a public swimming-pool to give the land to a Jordanian millionaire so that he can build a fee-paying college for rich kids on it.

This country is beyond belief.

The prime minister announced this evening that he won’t be seizing any agricultural land at Zonqor Point to give to his Jordanian buddy. No, he’s taking the public swimming-pool and its grounds instead.

But never mind, because he says that at some point in the future he’ll have another one built where the waterpolo pitch is now, and it can serve a dual purpose.

And we are supposed to say: ah, so that’s all right then. Let’s hear it for the liberal left that looks to me astonishingly like the fascist right in these matters.
