The press has scotched Marco Gaffarena’s deal. No wonder he’s mad.
By blowing the cover off Marco Gaffarena’s sneaky scheme to do with Palazzo Verdelin (currently housing the Valletta police station, but privately owned) what he did with that place in Old Mint Street, the press has scotched it.
This is not because the government has had a crisis of conscience, but because it doesn’t want the hassle.
No wonder Marco Gaffarena and his wife, who is the one writing all those comments on Facebook and the internet (her husband is sub-literate in Maltese and knows no English at all, not even spoken let alone written; members of the press, please take note of that) are freaking and lashing out.
I wonder what they had been planning to do with the money – store it up for the afterlife, perhaps. I don’t think he had any plans to pay for literacy or TEFL classes, or both.
