What was the prime minister’s daughter doing at her father’s press conference?
One of the prime minister’s daughters was part and parcel of her father’s press conference at Marsascala yesterday, lined up behind him with one of his aides, with his communications man Kurt Farrugia, with cabinet ministers, Parnis King of Di Sawt, and with the architect on the project, Ray Demicoli. With them, she faced the press.
Even if the prime minister really had no choice but to look after her for the morning – why, what was her mother doing? – his aide should have kept her aside and away from the cameras, and not made her part of the line-up.
Aside from the fact that the PM and his wife insist on stuffing those two children in our faces at every given opportunity and then expecting us to say nothing about their choices, they’re going to grow up to be more insufferable than their awful father.
What message is Muscat trying to give us here – that he’s so hyper-cool he can turn up to an important press conference in a clean-out-the-garage outfit, with his daughter in tow?
He looks like what he is: a backwoodsman who turned up to the party in the wrong outfit. It’s just one insult to the people after another.
