So the bus-drivers are striking today because of their lunch-breaks. That means everyone who would have gone to work or on errands in Valletta by bus will now go in by car.

So more parking will be needed but instead the big cheeses of public transport – Transport Minister Joe Mizzi and Transport Malta chief James Piscopo – have arranged to have less.

The upper level parking area at the Park And Ride base has been closed to the public – because the public buses operated by Autobuses de Leon are parked there while their drivers strike.

UPDATE: The upper level has since been reopened to the public, who are being asked to park their cars alongside the buses.
