Sandro Chetcuti is a really bad example for children
The Archbishop and the Environment Minister yesterday held a little tree-planting ceremony, with prayers, at the National Park in Ta’ Qali. It was organised by the Roman Catholic Church’s Environmental Commission, and politicians, leaders of other Christian churches, environmentalists and members of the developers’ lobby were invited, along with children at the state-run summer school in St Paul’s Bay.
The inclusion of the developers’ lobby was a mistake. Inviting them to a ceremony to celebrate the natural environment is like inviting the president of the butchers’ association/eat-more-meat lobby to an event that seeks to promote vegetarianism.
Sandro Chetcuti is also a very bad example to children. Instead, he is being put forward to children as a good sort of person to be when they grow up.
Chetcuti is a distillation of pretty much everything that is wrong with Maltese society. The aim should be to have fewer children grow up to share his attitude and be as crass as he is.
