Minister Michael Farrugia solves the problem of finding a parking space in Naxxar on a Sunday morning
Parking is always difficult (next to impossible) in Naxxar on a Sunday morning, because the area round the parish square is packed with cafes, band-club and political-party club coffee shops, people going to mass and others stopping for their newspapers and an espresso.
You go round and round in circles, which is exactly what I had to do today, and then you see this. An irate reader who had the same experience as I did sent in this picture.
This is Family and Social Policy Minister Michael Farrugia’s official car. Why it should be wearing its GM plates on a Sunday morning is not for us to question, apparently. I think the most obvious answer is that it is done to deflect the unwanted attention of traffic wardens.
If you type GM18 into the search box up at the top of the page, you will see that he (or his chauffeur) has a history of this kind of arrogant parking.
