And the forensic expert interviewed for this piece, which was published in the print edition of Times of Malta yesterday, says that the figure is probably higher because several murders remain unsolved or unproven and some attempted murders can’t be proven either because the women are too afraid to say what happened.
Marie Therese Camilleri Podesta, who performs autopsies in murder cases, says that these murders are different from others because they show “a (high) level of anger”.
