Facecream Phyllis’s Potemkin Village comes equipped with ‘local spelling’

Facecream Phyllis and her yacht-guest Joseph Muscat are at great pains to turn Malta into a sort of extended Potemkin Village during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, with schools – including private schools – and the university ordered Beijing-style to close down for the duration to turn Malta into a magical traffic-free island.
Now they have tarmacked the Ghajn Dwieli road leading past the old dockyard and into the ‘three cities’ area, down which a convoy of CHOGM delegates will be driven en route to their meeting at Fort At Angelo.
But unfortunately, Phyllis’s best Potemkin efforts have been spoiled by a little local colour in the form of the latest trend in Taghna Lkoll signage and road markings.
