Iswed? He’s a man, not an ‘iswed’.

The Nationalist Party media are reporting on stories in the British press about Ludo Boumbas, a Congolese man who saved a woman when they were under terrorist attack in Paris on Friday night.

I am quite sure that the Nationalist Party media will have noticed that none of the reports in the British press were headlined ‘Black man saves woman’ or referred to “a black called Ludo Boumbas”.

Whoever is in charge should give directions for these offensive ways of describing people to stop completely, because they betray a way of thinking that is completely unacceptable in civilised Europe. We need to know that the Nationalist Party is better than that. A good start would be to get rid of that stupidly offensive headline as soon as possible.

And purely from a practical point of view:

1. there’s a photograph – you don’t need to say he’s black;

2. he’s from the Congo – you don’t need to say he’s black;

3. it’s completely irrelevant whether he’s black – the news angle here is that a man saved a woman, and not that the man who saved the woman is black.
