“Kif? Mela diga wasal?”
I have received this from a journalist friend who was outside the Auberge de Castille this morning with the rest of the press corps.
So Prime Minister Muscat had a bilateral meeting with President Francois Hollande this morning at 11:15. The PM rolled up to Castille at around 11:05 and went straight in.
Around 30 seconds later, Hollande’s delegation arrived, a few minutes earlier than expected. Maltese security officials, panicked, had to hurry the PM’s Alfa out of the way to make room for Hollande’s car to open onto the red carpet.
Hollande then got out of his car and realised that nobody was there to meet him. So after hesitating, he took a few tentative steps along the red carpet and up the steps. Suddenly, somebody rushed downstairs and dashed forward to greet him, then ushered him the rest of the way upstairs where Muscat met him for their bilateral meeting.
