Marlene Farrugia on the subject of Helena Dalli’s defence of men who “insult” women

Helena Dalli – Minister of Civil Liberties and Equality, if you please – said it’s all about context. She needs to remember that herself.

The context here, as Dalli has probably forgotten because it is convenient to do so now that the man in question – Jeffrey Pullicino ‘Orlando’ – roots for Joseph Muscat, is that Marlene Farrugia was married to a violent and abusive man with whom she lived for several years.

Not to put too fine a point on it, she knows exactly – through direct, actual experience – what she is talking about when she speaks about male violence towards women. Her experience is borne out by that of Pullicino ‘Orlando’s’ second wife, who is also citing violent and abusive behaviour in her petition for a civil annulment, after just a year of marriage, citing the neighbours and the police as witnesses.
