Police outrider crashes into car while trying to overtake with sirens wailing

Yesterday morning on the Regional Road, a police outrider accompanying limos carrying Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting delegates crashed into a car and overturned. He fell off and his police motorbike was badly damaged. He got up, seemingly unhurt, but the traffic was waved on, so I can’t tell you what happened next.

The incident happened when, to quote the person who sent me these photographs, “there was a lot of mayhem on the Regional Road roundabout when we all panicked because of the insistent sirens and tried to make way. The police outrider tried to force his way past a car but hit it and fell off.”
