They have got to be joking: they’re even restricting sea traffic

Unbelievable – just look at this. What exactly was the point of offering to host this ruddy meeting if it means ordering the country to grind to a halt?

And why are they ordering the country to grind to a halt, anyway? This sort of thing is actually scary. If they feel able to order the closure of schools, the university and arterial roads, and to order restrictions on movements of sea craft, just for a Commonwealth meeting, what is to stop them doing to same thing as and when they deem fit? Nothing, as we have seen.

And everybody – including the private schools and the university – will just obey.
