This headline is perfect

I have to commend this headline, which really puts the government’s shameless behaviour on migration and selling citizenship into its proper context. Read the story here.

But I would add something else to put the government’s attitude towards the seriousness of the migration issue into perspective (and this after two and a half years of amateur dramatics with pushbacks and grandstanding): Joseph Muscat’s government has pledged €250,000 to an emergency trust fund for the “stability and addressing root causes of irregular migration” in Africa. That’s €50,000 less than it has given to its party donor, Raymond Vella & Co, to pointlessly change the Auberge de Castille façade lighting, and with disastrous results.
