This is NOT a charity auction

Phyllis Muscat’s hype about the auction of the 78 Volvo cars that have been brought in for the service of CHOGM delegates makes it sound as though all the proceeds from the auction will go to charity.

That is what a charity auction is: all the money from everything auctioned goes to the charity in question.

But this is not going to be a charity auction. This is going to be a straight auction of the cars, in which the supplier of those cars recoups the money spent on them, and anything left over goes to charity.

Do they have to be dishonest even about this?
