Others have resigned for so much less; Ian Borg should be made to go

Joseph Muscat is not one to believe in or uphold principles unless they serve his more prosaic interests. Is he going to make Ian Borg step down because of the very serious conclusions of the Ombudsman’s report into how he obtained planning permission for his land in Had-Dingli?

No, he is not.

But I suspect he will understand before long that if he doesn’t corral Borg, but still intends to stay on as party leader (and prime minister) after the next general election, then he will possibly find himself with his political throat slit by an ambitiously determined and stop-at-nothing Borg coming up from behind.

And then he will do something about Borg.
