Best in Europe Update: Muscat’s Malta is not Sweden
Muscat’s Minister for the Economy, Chris ‘Have A Drink’ Cardona, is living in a Swieqi penthouse which is leased out by the landlord to Henley & Partners for use by their Maltese-citizenship-applicant clients as a registered address. The story was broken by this website.
This was after he lived for almost a year rent free (“You can pay me when you leave..”) in a Portomaso flat loaned to him by businessman Silvan Fenech of the Tumas Group, with whom he drinks regularly at the Stable bar in Valletta. That story was also broken by this website.
And of course, none of this is a problem because this is Muscat’s Malta we are living in.
Meanwhile, Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallström is under investigation for corruption because she is renting a flat from a trade union at preferential rates. The Swedish police formally opened their investigation yesterday.
