This is one phenomenon I will never understand: spending half your weekend jammed in traffic, driving and on a ferry just to go to a different part of the country a few miles away.
If you have small children and it’s summer, then fine – the beaches are better there. But grown-ups, and in winter? Just take a Ryanair flight out of here. It’s probably cheaper, you’ll get to your destination faster, and there’s something you’ve never seen before at the other end.
This going-to-Gozo business takes the meaning of insularity to new (literally so) levels.
