Here’s the mother of the “ordinary working-class lad” in the Prime Minister’s New Year video
Here’s Bridget aka Brigida Agius, in this newspaper story from 2004 about the $1.5 million showroom her company had just opened in Tripoli.
Her son Fernando Agius is the young man who the Prime Minister has just attempted to pass off with us, in his New Year video, as an ordinary working-class lad who bought his home and (Construct Furniture) kitchen thanks to Muscat’s tax benefits.
Construct Furniture was set up by Mrs Agius’s father, John Camilleri, who died last year. Her uncle Piju Camilleri, who was a front for corrupt 1980s Labour Minister Lorry Sant and a notorious thug (he beat one of my friends so savagely during a protest demo by environmentalists that she was confined to bed for weeks) is still alive, kicking and in possession of ODZ land at Zonqor Point from which he will soon be making a killing.

Bridget’s son Fernando Agius, who in the Prime Minister’s New Year video message pretends to be a working-class lad who struggled and bought his first home thanks to the Prime Minister’s tax breaks.

Bridget Agius’s father John Camilleri, who set up Construct Furniture. His brother is the notorious Piju Camilleri, who was a front for the corrupt 1980s Labour Minister Lorry Sant and a thug who beat up anti-Labour-government demonstrators. Piju Camilleri now owns large tracts of land at Zonqor Point.
