Now we know why there have been no headlines about the prosecution of the company directors

Now we know why there have been no massive headlines about the prosecution of the directors of Construct Furniture – why there has probably been no prosecution to begin with; I can’t find anything to indicate that they have been investigated and arraigned – following the death of a 17-year-old boy who worked on one of their machines and was literally sucked up and mangled by it last summer, round about the time that Construct Furniture was given a contract by the government for the refurbishment of Dar Malta in Brussels.

So much for Joseph Muscat’s hypocrisy about workers’ rights: a boy of 17 gets mangled and killed in the workplace at Construct Furniture and five months down the line, Muscat is posing about delivering his New Year’s Day message from a Construct Furniture kitchen, trying to pass off a scion of the Construct Furniture dynasty as an underprivileged working-class lad who bought his home (and Construct Furniture kitchen) thanks to the Muscat government’s tax benefits.

This disgusting, lying and abusive government, friend and supporter of corrupt capitalists of the worst kind, will soon turn me into a rabid socialist at this rate.

Matthew Bartolo, 17, sucked up and mangled to death by one of Construct Furniture's machines last summer. I can find nothing to indicate that the company directors have been investigated, arraigned and prosecuted.
