Science council executive chairman and Malta Enterprise consultant at Labour Party Gzira rally
The executive chairman of the Malta Council for Science and Technology was at the Labour Party’s rally at Gzira’s Orpheum Theatre yesterday morning, accompanied by Malta Enterprise consultant (post-March 2013 appointee) Karl Stagno Navarra.
Stagno Navarra was put on the state payroll purportedly to coordinate Malta’s official stand at the Milan fair. It is unclear what he is doing now in return for the public money he receives.
At yesterday’s rally, the Labour leader – who is also the Prime Minister – celebrated his backbenchers Manuel Mallia and Michael Falzon, calling them “honourable men” and saying that the Opposition leader “wishes he had men like these”. This left those who were listening to the broadcast shaking their head in disbelief: Muscat sacked both Mallia and Falzon under pressure from public outrage because of their disgraceful behaviour, the latter only a couple of days earlier.
