On a separate matter, can anybody explain why the name of that wharf is Haywharf rather than Hay Wharf? The other wharves around the port area are called, for example, Bridge Wharf, Timber Wharf, Coal Wharf and Barriera Wharf, and not Bridgewharf, Timberwharf, Coalwharf and Barrierawharf.
I truly hope it’s not related to the blackbull/jackcoke/middleclass language problem, by which many Maltese people, when speaking English, lay emphasis on the wrong word, or on just the one, thereby making a single word out of what should be two separate words.
