Standards in public life: an update

The girlfriend of the Malta Council for Science and Technology’s executive chairman, for whom he left his second wife of just one year (for whom, in turn, he had created parliamentary uproar about the need for divorce, which then painted himself into a tight corner from which he couldn’t get out), uploads a new profile picture on Facebook and the former Police & Army Minister, who was forced out of the cabinet one year ago because of a shooting escapade and attempted cover-up involving his chauffeur, comments “stunning pic”.

And people have been programmed already to see this as entirely normal behaviour which should pass without comment, rather than receiving media attention.
