In a further insult to the rule of law, building contractor Charles Polidano has commissioned a vast pair of intricately decorated bronze doors, of the sort associated with Renaissance cathedrals, for his “palace” at the illegal Montekristo Estate. The doors are being handcrafted in Italy at huge cost and will be shipped here at a further great cost. And bronze doors of this nature, as some of us know, are not just doors. They are symbols of permanence, power and the ability to flex financial and political clout and keep people out.
